Stamford Bridge Tennis Club was believed to have been originally founded way back in 1924 with just one grass court catering for the small but enthusastic membership. Over the years of its existence, its gone through some lean times but thanks to a influx of new members in early 2001 massive strides have been made which has led to some unprecendented recent success in league tennis.
We are a friendly club and keen to offer the opportunity for anyone who is interested in playing tennis to join us. You don't have to be experienced as we welcome players of all ages and abilities and offer the chance to play in a friendly environment.
We encourage families to use the facilities and particularly welcome Junior members and we have employed a professional coach again this year, who will offer coaching sessions for various age groups.
This year we are running a team in the ladies doubles league. For others who just want to enjoy recreational tennis, there are the regular Tuesday & Friday evening Club Nights.
Professional coaching sessions are available for Juniors (all age groups) starting in April. Senior coaching is available on an individual or group basis but these will be by arrangement only. In addition to the organised sessions, members are free to use the courts at any time providing home matches and coaching sessions are not scheduled.
As members of the LTA, there is the added benefit of entry for all club members wishing to enter into the ballot for a chance to buy Wimbledon tickets.
There is also a full social programme which members can particpate in if they wish to.
Tuesdays 6-7pm - Families 7pm onwards - Ladies
Fridays 5.30-6.30pm - Juniors 6.30pm onwards - Adults
